All Hallows staff invited onto editorial board of Spiritus

The international profile of the study of spirituality at All Hallows College has been enhanced by the news that Dr. Michael O’Sullivan, Director of the MA in Applied Christian Spirituality  has been chosen by peers in the international Society for the Study of Christian Spirituality (SSCS) to be a member of the Editorial Board of Spiritus

 

Spiritus is the leading international journal for the study of Christian spirituality and Michael is the first Irish person to be invited on to the Board.  He had previously been elected to the Governing Board of the SSCS and currently serves on its Promotions Committee.  He is also the only Irish person to have been appointed to the Steering Committee of the Christian Spirituality Study Group of the American Academic of Religion.Michael__Bernadette

 

Dr. Bernadette Flanagan, Director of Research at All Hallows, who is also a specialist in the academic study of spirituality, became the first Irish person to be published in Spiritus when her commissioned article, Applied Spirituality: Reflections of an Educator, was published in the current issue of the journal.  She was the also first Irish person to be elected by her peers to the Governing Board of the SSCS.  Bernadette and Michael are the Co-Directors of the Spiritual Capital Ireland Centre,an inter-institutional project between All Hallows and Waterford Institute of Technology.  Michael and Bernadette are currently co-editing a volume on spiritual capital for Ashgate publishers.
