Launch of book on Supervision edited by All Hallows staff

The Soul of Supervision: Integrating Practice and Theory, edited by Margaret Benefiel and Geraldine Holton  was launched at All Hallows College on Friday 19th November.

With national and international concern around issues of abuse, burnout, meaninglessness, and spiritual bankruptcy in everyRonan_B_Tobin_Ann_Lavan_Michael_OSullivan_Geraldine_Holton_Bernadette_Flanagan_Margaret_Benefiel_Resized_cropped profession, supervision is becoming increasingly necessary for people who desire life-giving care and understanding in their work and ministry. This new book provides a framework of theory and experience to develop the strengths and address the challenges of professional supervision with particular focus on developing spiritual sensitivity and competency.

Both editors deliver the postgradaute programme, MA in Supervisory Practice, currently running its first year in All Hallows College. Geraldine Holton is the programme director.

The book was launched by Ann Lavan, PhD, BSocSc DipSocSc, AAPSW, CQSW, former  Senior Lecturer in UCD School of Applied Social Science and Director of the Social Science Research Centre.
