General Information
Length of Courses 4 Years Full-time (also available part-time)
Course Content Students study Theology together with their chosen second subject (Philosophy/Psychology/English Literature) throughout the four years of the programme. As an integral component of their academic programme, all 2nd Arts students undertake a supervised pastoral field placement. Accreditation All the degrees are fully accredited and awarded by Dublin City University.
All the degrees are approved by the Teachers Registration Council for the purpose of teaching Religious Education at second level, upon completion of the H.Dip in Education. The BA in Theology & English has also been approved by the Teachers Registration Council for the purpose of teaching English at second level, upon completion of the H.Dip in Education.
Student Exchange Programmes All Hallows students may follow programmes at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Trier in Germany or at the Philosophical and Theological Studium in Erfurt in Germany. This programme allows for full recognition of studies under the European Credit Transfer System. All Hallows students may also participate in a formal exchange agreement with St. John’s University New York.
Fees All three Degrees qualify for free fees under the Government Free Fees Scheme and for financial assistance where students are eligible under the Higher Education Grants Scheme.
Accommodation
As of September 2009, accommodation for undergraduate students is provided on campus. Please click here to link to our accommodation page. Alternatively, a list of accommodation provided outside the college by individuals and other institutions is updated annually. A copy of the list may be requested from the Undergraduate Office. In addition to this, as an accredited College of Dublin City University, DCU's on campus accommodation is available to students of All Hallows College. Minimum Academic Entry Requirements
All, except for mature applicants, must attain the following minimum academic entry requirements:
Leaving Certificate Six Leaving Certificate subjects to include a minimum of two Honour C3s and four passes. A pass in mathematics and a language. The language can be English, Irish or a foreign language. Ordinary alternative/Foundation level mathematics is acceptable as a minimum entry requirement, but no points are awarded for it. LCVP link modules are acceptable on Scale 1, which is 70 points for a distinction, 50 points for a merit and 30 points for a pass.

FETAC Level 5/6 FETAC Level 5/6 Awards are accepted as an equivalent qualification to the Leaving Certificate. Applicants must have a full level FETAC 5/6 award, a record of achievement is not acceptable. The best 8 modules will be considered for points. There are no specific module requirements, any 8 modules will be accepted. Applicants must have a minimum of five distinctions. Three places will be made available on each programme for students presenting this qualification.
Minimum Academic Requirements for Mature Applicants: Mature applicants are those that are 23 years or over on 1st January of the year of the course commencing. Mature applicants are not required to meet the minimum entry requirements; however, they must demonstrate that they have the academic ability, commitment and enthusiasm to pursue the programme.

Application Procedure
All applications, except for mature EU applicants, must be made through the Central Applications Office:

The normal closing date for applications through the CAO is 1st February. The late application closing date is 1st May.
Non-European Union Applicants All Non-European applicants should apply through the Central Application Office. Applications should be received preferably by 15th December, but no later than 1st February. Certified translations in English of qualifications and / or examination results must be furnished with each application. Such applicants must also demonstrate and provide evidence of proficiency in the English Language. Further details on accepted levels of English proficiency can be obtained by clicking here. Mature EU Applicants Mature EU applicants should apply directly to All Hallows College. To be considered a mature EU applicant, the applicant must be a national of an EU member state. To be considered as a mature student, a candidate must be 23 years of age or over on 1st January of the year they begin the course. There is an Open Closing Date for mature applicants, but we recommend early application due to high demand for the course. All mature students will be interviewed.
