American

All Hallows has run pilot programmes in conjunction with a number of American universities: Webster University, St.Louis; University of Missouri and Regis University, Denver;

In recent years more substantial courses have been developed with St. John’s University, New York and De Paul University, Chicago. Their shared Vincentian heritage with an emphasis on service, makes collaboration between All Hallows and these two universities a very natural development.

St. John’s University, New York
Beginning in fall 2004 All Hallows will commence a student exchange programme with St. John’s. Undergraduate students from All Hallows will spend a semester or an academic year at St. John’s with access to the rich resources of America’s largest Catholic university, and the opportunity to participate in St. John’s Service Learning programme. Exposure to the U.S. Church and its style of ministry will also be an enriching experience. At the same time, St. John’s students will benefit from the added diversity and perspectives from another culture that their Irish counterparts will bring to campus.

In future years, St. John’s students will join the All Hallows community. They will experience the innovative pastoral development opportunities available – including the Pastoral Placements program - in the intimate environment that makes All Hallows College unique.

De Paul University, Chicago
In conjuction with De Paul Univeristy, Chicago All Hallows runs a Master of Arts in Management: Pastoral and Voluntary Services. This programme integrates DePaul’s strength in nonprofit education and All Hallows expertise in the ethos of value-based service through social justice. The programme emphasises an integrative and strategic approach to administration and decision-making in Non-Profit Organisations. It is designed for working professionals including managers in nonprofit organizations, fundraising professionals, advocates, trustees, directors and volunteers in church-based organizations.

Practitioners and full-time interdisciplinary faculty guide students’ exploration of management and strategy for church administration, health care, social services, associations, education, government and arts organisations. The programme prepares participants for professional leadership in the context of ethics and faith.

The Masters degree may be obtained in two years part-time

Upon successful completion of the program, students receive an MS in Public Service Management from DePaul or an MA in Management for Pastoral and Voluntary Services from Dublin City University
