All Hallows, one of Ireland’s first missionary seminaries, was founded in 1842, through the vision and determination of Fr. John Hand. Its first graduates ministered to the emigrants who left Ireland during the Potato Famine of 1845-47. Since that time, All Hallows has sent more than 4000 ordained priests to South America, South Africa, India, Canada, Australia, the West Indies, New Zealand, the United States, England, Scotland and Wales. While we are justifiably proud of the past, we recognise that we must look to the future if we are to continue to meet the constantly changing needs of the worldwide Christian community. Today, our mission encompasses the initial and ongoing formation of priests, lay leaders and the renewal of parish communities. To that end we have expanded our curriculum to include an even more comprehensive range of full and part-time courses for lay, religious and seminary students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Degrees at All Hallows College: BA, Graduate Diploma, Masters and PhD programmes are validated by Dublin City University. |
